For young artists ages 12-17
This workshop will introduce some of the basics of colour and composition in creating an acrylic painting on canvas. Students will have the opportunity to explore colour theory through the mixing of, and the combination of colours. The basics of picture composition will be discussed and each student will have the opportunity to put their understanding into practice. Students will leave the workshop with their own unique painting!
About the Artist:
Lorraine Jansen is a local artist who lives out in the country near LeRoy, SK. Her studio is located amongst the trees and gardens in her yard. It is there that she conducts her Art practice. Lorraine has both studied and taught Art. She is a visual artist who works in a variety of painting and drawing mediums.
Lorraine finds inspiration in the simplicity and beauty of the ordinary. The art that she creates is a reaction to, and an interpretation of what she sees and feels. She has a strong connection to nature, and this connection often finds its way into the subject matter she presents.
