Public Art

The City of Humboldt’s Murals Committee promotes and manages the creation of public art. The Committee is the sole authority to choose the subject matter, artist and site location for murals in the City of Humboldt.

There are several public art projects in the community including the Humboldt Beginnings, Urban Lukan and CN murals, the Diefenbaker Stamp image, the Alexander von Humboldt bust and the Canada 150 mural mosaic - one of dozens across Canada that marked the country's 150th birthday!

Take a tour of Old Saskatchewan with the series of 12 Urban Lukan murals throughout the Humboldt Downtown Business Improvement District! Each unique silhouette tells about a different part of life in the past, all from drawings by local artist Urban Lukan.

Ongoing and sincere thanks are given to the many sponsors, volunteers, partners and agencies that support the development of public art in the community.
