Volunteers
The Museum encourages citizens of Humboldt and area to support the museum by volunteering for special projects. It is a great place to meet people, discover the fun in heritage and make your community a better place.
Volunteers can help in many capacities such as tour guides, hostess and reception duties, art and education programming, special events, demonstrations, research, sewing, promotions, baking, fund-raising activities, carpentry work, role playing/acting. Volunteers are also welcome to serve on the Museum board, foundation committee or the Friends of the Museum.
Please consider volunteering your time and talent. Contact us to find out what volunteer opportunities are available, and what areas you feel comfortable helping with.
Friends of the Museum
The Friends of the Museum volunteer group was started in 1994. These energetic volunteers assist with events, programs and special projects. Their main fund raising activities include the Festival of Wreaths, Chili Lunch and the Coffee Party.
Through their volunteer efforts, they have improved the museum substantially by funding a variety of projects. They have sponsored art exhibitions and special events, exhibit renovations and the Humboldt Telegraph newsletter publication. The Friends of the Museum have generously funded the publication of the 100 Interesting Stories About Humboldt book.
Volunteers are our community’s greatest resource and their achievements shine proudly throughout our civic museum. Thanks to all our great volunteers who support and build our community pride.
If you would like to volunteer and meet new people in an enjoyable atmosphere, please consider being a volunteer at Humboldt and District Museum & Gallery.
